Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week is a time for all the family with a daily set of events to watch, listen to or join in.
24th July - 31st July Various locations around Lyme Regis Admiral Sir George Somers Commemoration Parade
In 1996 St Georges, Bermuda and Lyme Regis were linked together by twinning, their link being George Somers. Admiral Sir George Somers was a British naval hero.
August 2010 Regatta and Carnival Week
Nine days of action packed activities for the whole family. The Carnival Procession will be on Saturday 14 August.

The History and Geology of Lyme Regis
A short history of the ancient sea port of Lyme Regis and a guide to the geology of the fossil rich Lyme Regis Dorset / Devon coastline.
The beautiful coastline has been granted World Heritage Site status because of the outstanding earth science interest.
The town has a long and varied history; records start in 774AD.
There has been no noticeable development and so Lyme Regis remains unspoiled. It is famous for not only its finds of fossils and its geology, but also the abundance of famous personalities that have lived and visited here and its uniqueness in these modern times.
