Jurassic coastiline and fossil hunting
Fancy exploring the Jurassic Coasline? What to know what its all about?
Below is a brief history
Below is a brief history
Explore the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, stretching 95 miles (155km) from Swanage in the East to Exmouth in the West. It tells the story of 185 million years of the Earth's history. The site's unique value creates a 'walk through time' that includes the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The varied geology also provides a spectacular laboratory of coastal change, and supports rare and important plants and animals. It is a place to be enjoyed, learnt from and looked after for future generations.
The cliffs around Lyme Regis constantly crumble and slip into the sea, revealing fossils from the ancient Jurassic past of 180 million years ago. Take a fossil hunting walk and discover the fossilised remains of giant ichthyosaur, plesiosaur, belemnites and ammonites that can be found on the beach.

Some of our village history .....
Whitchurch Canonicorum or Whitechurch Canonicorum is a village and civil parish in southwest Dorset, England, situated in the Marshwood Vale 5 miles (8.0 km) westnorthwest of Bridport. The village has a population of 647 (As of 2001); 10.1% of dwellings are second homes.
On the northern edge of the village is the Church of St Candida and Holy Cross. It is noteworthy as containing the only shrine in Britain to have survived the Reformation with its relics intact, apart from that of Saint Edward the Confessor in Westminster Abbey. The saint in question is the somewhat obscure Saint Wite (Latinised as Saint Candida) after whom the church and the village are named. The flag of Dorset makes dedication to St Wite.
Sir George Somers (1554–1610) was the Mayor of Lyme Regis and later Governor of The Somers Isles (Bermuda) he died "of a surfeit in eating of a pig", on November 9, 1610 in Bermuda. His heart was buried in Bermuda but his body, pickled in a barrel, was landed on the Cobb at Lyme Regis in 1618. A volley of muskets and cannon saluted his last journey to the church at Whitchurch Canonicorum where his body is buried. It is also the burial place of Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov and Sir Robin Day.

Farm life - Come and see our new Robots milking the cows
Times change and with time so does technology. After 20 years of milking through a 20/20 parlour we have installed 4 robotic milkers in a new set up with 2 more being installed in our old buildings due to start in March.
When you stay at our S/C cottages and in our B&B rooms you are welcome to come to the main farm to see how its done and how peaceful and comfortable the cows are. We will answer any questions you may have on this and other aspects of our farm.
